of the Southeastern Fair Association.
This falr, although making its initial

of doing for years.
“We also wish to ecall attention te
the fact that we have met Mr. Downing
at the Jowa State Fair and other shows,
looking up the best quality of hogs and
the best methods of carlnfi for pigs of
different breeds and deve onlnL them
into the most perfect individuals. We
are sure that Georgia will be one of the
leading States in the South on account
of the work which is being done by M{‘
Downing in carrying out his plans in
the extension work of the Department
of ;\grlcglture under the direction of the
United Btates Government.
“From Mr. Downing we secured the
address of Mr. Rommel, the general
manager of the Animal Husbandry De
partment in Washington, D. C. We also
made arranfiementl with Mr. Downing
for a classification of Hampshire hox
in the Plg Club classes for the year 19

We desire to assist Mr. Downing ™
securing as many entries from the
Hampshire breed as there is from any
other breed, as the Hampshires have
won in more cases than any other breed
has ever won, according to the num-—
ber which has been entered. We want
to give every possible assistance and ges
tha boys all supplied with pigs, not
only in the State of Georgia, but in ew
ery other State where Hampshires may
'he found, and they are found in every
State of the Unlon.

entire South to take up the Hampshire
hog on account of his hnrdihood,x
hustling disposition, his rapid gro
and his high quality of meat and good

young from the intrusions which appear
so frequently in the South. For this
reason the mombershlr of the Hamp
shire Record Association has golnod
with the several fairs of the South,
