bouquet of pink roses. Miss Fraser
wore ciel blue taffeta, brocaded In
s lver flowers. The bouffant draper
leg of the silk allowed a margin of
the petticoat of silver lace to show for
fully three inches, and the bodice was

ESIDES the club.affairs this
winter, a number of very
handsome functions have had
for their setting the Georgian Ter
race, which ig located centrally for
social ‘entertaining. The dinner-dance
given in December at this hotel was
a brilllant occasion and following
closely was the Black and White ball,
given for the Belgian Relief Fund.
Last week the Debutantes’ Club
gave a large card party on the mez
zine floor when three hundred wo
men were seated about the balcony
overlooking the lobby and their con
tributions were given to the Girls'
Settlement Home, which is being
financed by the Debutantes’ Club.
Handsome prizes were donated and
were won by Miss Helen Rhorer,
Miss Theodosia Willingham and Mrs.
Haynes McFadden. The thirty girls
who form the club were hostesses of
the occasion and in their dainty af
ternoon frocks they made a success
ful social function of the affair.
Mrs. Merrill Hutchinson will give
a reading of Tagore's “The King of
the Dark Ckamber,” on Thursday af
ternoon, January 20, for the beneflt
of St. Elizabeth’s Guild of St. Luke's
Church.
The second dinner-dance of the
winter will be held at the Georgian
Terrace on the evening of February
3, and several reservations for tables
have already been made.
George Washington’s birthday will
be celebrated with a dinner-dance on
the evening of February 22, when
elaborate decorations will prevail
And the great leap year ball, when
the debutantes and young society
girls will entertain, will be given at
the Georgian Terrace on January 20,
