estate case passed into the hands of
Judge J. N. Worley. newly appointed
"judge of the Northern Circuit, no
hearing will be had Dbefore Judge
Charles H. Brand on March 11, as an
nounced from his court in chambers,
and the matter is now entirely in the
! hands of Judge Worley, and it is ex
pected it will rest there until the final
appointment of permanent adminis
trators.
Judge Worley was appointed to the
" bench following the resignation of
Judge D. W. Meadow, and soon after
. being sworn into office issued re
straining orders against the receivers
lately named by Judge A, W, Fite in
terfering wish the Smith property un-‘
Jess under orders of Judge Worley's !
court. He further instructed the tem
porary administrators appointed n_\'|
Ordinary Bacon, of Oglethorpe Coun
ty, to retain possession of the prop
erty. |
As Oglethorpe County is in Judaze
Worley's elrcuit, he has immediaia
jurisdiction, with authority to pass
the orders superseding those previous
v put forth by Judge Fite, of the
Cherokee Cirenit, and Judge Brand, of
. the Western Clrcuit,
Besldes the three sets of contesting
heirs, a fourth party to the contro
yersy over the estate is the State of
Ceorgia, which seeks to collect about

Commissioner, is handling the matter

AREZZO, ITALY, Feb. 26.—Pietro
Rossi, the young Italian student who
shot Mrs. Mary Flavelle, of Chicago,
on a train between Genoa and Flor
ence in May, 1914, was convicted \ot
attempted murder last night.
He was taken into court to-day and
sentenced to imprisonment for eight
vears and four months.
