By Ba%tist Hospital
The Georgia Baptist Hospital has
leased from H, J. Bruce, owner, a three
story and basement brick building on
the northeast side of Nassau street, be
tween Bartow and Walton, for five
years at $1:500 a year, and will take pos
session about Monday.
This structure was built by Mr. Bruce
two yeéars ago and has been leased for
a short term to several concerns. It is
on a lot 40 feet square, with 6,400 square
feet of floor space. ”»

Dr. J. Sprole Lyon, pastor of the
First Presbyterian Church, Thursaay
received news of the death in Doug
las,'Ga.. of Dr. Edward’ O. Guerrant,
78, of Wilmore, Ky., one of the most
distinguished ministers in the South
ern Presbyterian Church. Dr, Guer
rant was at the home of his daughter,
in Douglas, at the time of his death,
he having stopped over there on his
way to Kentucky from his winter
home in Florida. The body will be
taken Thursday atternoon_ to Ken
tucky for the funeral. ‘
- Dr. Guerrant was a brilliant pulpit
orator and & striking figure in the
Southern Presbyterian Church. He
was a graduate Of Center College,
Kentucky, and for a long while was a
‘prominent physician. He entered the
ministry in &‘75? and held a number
of pastorates in Kentucky, ineluding
th® First Presbyterian Church, of
Louisville, the former pastorate of
Dr. Lyon. He later was called to
evangelistic work in Kentucky, and
organized the “American Inland Mis
sion,"\devoting his energies to the up
lift of the mountain classes.’ He
wrote several books dealing with Lhe‘
spread of the gospel in the moun-.
taind and the situation there gen
erally,
Dr.Guerrant was a Confederate vet
eran, having won a brilliant record
as a soldier as a member of John
Morgan's famous command.

Harris, a negro, living just across the
Tennessee State line in Mississippi,

his house several months ago to ar
rest him for no cause, and that when

Reichman came to Memphls from
Cincinnati just a few years before he
