poetry becomes the daily prose,
without rhythm or {unyme. The
lyric Is transmuted into the cpic,
and the epic becomes pretiy real

not a few college men of middie

by reason of separate forceful
blows than by the slow disin

of materialistic, commercialized
atmospheres, The struggle to
make a living masters the ecarly
vision of making a life, The world
overcomes the wind,
The defense, however, against
such staleness s not far 1o seek,

GREAT READING ESSENTIAL.
The peril of intellectual stale
ness may be removed by great
reading and noble thinking for at
least a brief period every day.
The Imperativeness of immediate

imperial imperativeness of the
distant duty., Poetry, great prose,
should be a daily portiog. The

The danger, too, of moral and
human staleness may be met by
thesnspigation of leadership. Ev
ety man should seek to ba a lead
e . He may be in humanity's
