ever, they have decided to renew old
acquaintanceships in this vieinity and
Tech is fortunate in having been able to
Eet two games scheduled with the Tar

THF) Tech team has been going so
hard of late, and with such suc

it was thought well to give them a holi

for a day. This they did yesterday aft

Frank, and they enjoved the game very
much Indeed They pulled strong for
the home team all 'ge way through,
for they are for Atlanta first, and their
home towns second.

THIF little lay-off should operate to
Eive them a renewed stock of pepper
for their own game this afternoon, and
they are going in to keep up thelr win
ning streak The team has won seven
of the last eight games played and if
v‘we]y can keep up the good work they
will soon be forging clear of the fleld.

EYTH‘-‘R Bryant or Puckett will likely
take the mound this afternoon, |
while the rest of the team will line up

R. M. Rose Sends Joe Levy to At
lanta to Look Over Site—Dil
lon Meets Flynn on May 18,
HAT Atlanta is going to have an
.up-to-date boxing club with
Randolph Rose at the head is
almost a certainty now.
Joe Levy, matchmaker and man
ager of the Rose A. C. in Chatta
nooga, arrived here yesterday and
will be in this city for the next few
days. 'He is here for the express
purpose of looking over the hoxing
situation here, and, incidentally, to
sign up several local boys for the
preliminaries to the big Jack Dillon-
Porky Flynn go in 'Nooga May 18,
Levy announced that Mr. Rose had
already made plans to go into busi
ness in this city, and that he had also
decided to run a boxing club here
in conjunction with his club in Chat
tanooga.
. - -
JI.’ST where Mr. Rose intends to
stage his bouts here could not
be learned today. ‘“We have not
picked a site yet,” said Levy yes
terday, “but when we do open it will
either be in a high-class manner or
not at all. It is Mr. Rose's present
intention to stage nothing but the
best bouts obtainable, both In Chat
tanooga and Atlanta., There will be
nothing too good for this ecity, vou
can bet on that,” continued Levy
- - -
SHH!'L!‘ the new club open in At
lanta it will be the Arst time
that houts have been staged here by
an organized eclub. In the past In
dividual parties have staged shows
here, which has handicapped them
somewhat in bringing the best talent
here, although in the past two years
satisfactory and attractive boxing
cards have been brought to this city
- - -
Hu\\'R\'Hß. Rose, levy et al,
should have a big advantage in
their favor. Mr. Rose has always
been known as a true hoxing fan,
who Is willing to go the limit to get
the big stars, while Levy is one of
the best posted boxing men in the
country. He is the former manager
of Joe Rivers and has also had ex
perience in staging shows all over

The Microbites, a strong local ama

the game should be a hotly contested
affair. The Microbites have won five
straight games this season. Robinson

Asher may pitch for the opposing
team.
The strong Federal Prison nine will

By Fuzzv Woodruff.
ROUDLY perched in third place.
the highest point reached in
considerably more than a year, |
the Crackers today go about the se

of the Pelicans and the Volunteers.
And incidentally the Crackess
achieved the perch by presenting what
will come very near to being the
Cracker battle front for the rest of
the season. At least to the faithful,
who gather daily at Ponce Del Leon

has long perturbed them has been
solved. . l
For LIl Marean had his Atlanta de

The little ex-Baron didn’'t do a thing
