Shipments Unsettle Market.
Corn and QOats Off.
CHICAGO, Sept. Il.—Lower oables
and lower world's shipments made an
unsettled grain market today. Wheat
started erratically, with prices e lower
to s?c higher. The market responded
readily to buying or selllng. After
light trading during the first half hour,
there waa a sudden burst of selling and
prices broke 14c.
Corn was easy to %ec lower. Local
buyers did most of the early trading.
mre was a weak attempt to strength
up, but it failed, and September
broke more than a cent on scattered
selling and poor a:j:port.
Oats opened steady to a t}uutor low
er, and was the steadiest of the grains
d‘urlng the breaks in wheat and corn.
Commission houses traded mofierttaly.
Provisions were lower and lard broke
20c soon after the opening.
Ribs were weaker.

LIVERPOOL GRAIN CABLE,
LIVERPOOL, Sept, 11.—Wheat opened
easier, 1 to 3d lower.
Corn opened unchanged to %d higher.
GRAIN EXPORT LAST WEEK,
Wheat exports last week from the
United States and Canada totaled 7,-
313,000 bushels, ssgol Bradstreet's, com
pared with 8,183 the previous week
and 3,724,000 a year ago; since July 1
lagt 80,279,000 bushels, compared with
42,614,000 last year. Corn exports since
July 1 totaled 13,718,000 bushels, against
2,834,000 last year.
GRAIN MARKET OPINION,
Thompson, McKinnen & Co.: “The
only weak spot in wheat is the fear of
' getting wheat from Russia. Don't think
there will be anr change of this for
long time. Premiums on cash are the
highest ever known. Looks like pur
chase. Corn will be slow, but sure to go
higher before long."
| COTTON MARKET OPINIONS.
S, B, cmrln & Co,: "It is now eon
sidered likely that .the cotton market
will be of a very irregular and two
sided trlding character for some time
to come. The trade has seldom had a
more difficult market situation to ana
lvze and forecast as that which now
prevails.” |
.. . ‘
Logan & Bryan: ‘“We have not
changed our opinion that later on the
supply and demand situation will be one
that should create a higher level of
prices."”’ |
