LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, TENN,
July ~The officers and men at the
training camp at Fort Oglethorpe were
the honor guests at a barbecue and
dance at the lLookout Mountain Club,
Members of the club were hosis, and
about 200 men at the army post were
fnvited, and the young girls of the
city were asked to the affair,
The attractive clubhouse, situated
near the west brow of the mountain,
srade a beautifu! scene for the party.
The lawr and porch were decorated
with pine boughs, garden flowers and
flags. On the terrace leading to the
adjoining ground used for serving the
guests was a grove of pine boughs,
placed in the sod as if growing there.
All along the tecrace were large bas
kets of flowers, including hollyhocks,
dahlias, bachelor buttons, phlox, lark
spur and other flowers, taken from

A large canopy or tent was erccted
over the serving tables, which were
arranged In a cross in the center, Red,
white and blue flowers, phlox, lark
spur and bachelor buttons adorned the
tubles,
The tent poles were covered with
red bunting, and pine sprigs were en
twined about them. Small flags were
placed among the pines. A large flag
floated from the entrance. Boxwood
bushes, hollyhoekas and baskets of the
flowers were placed about the in
closure, Just beyvond the tent was
the trench for the barbecued meat
which wan reasting since early morn.

attractive with quantities of flowers
and slugs. On the porch there were
flower boxes and harging baskets and
wall vases of flowers of all the sea
son's garden blooms. The reception
room was In yellow, nasturtitums and
dalgles developing the ldea, The ball
room walls were partially covered
with flags, and whenever possible the
large green baskets of flowers were
arranged. In the evening the deco
rative effect was heightened by the
