Asheville Resort Hotels

reasonably busy during the week just
ended. The largest and thost tmpor
tant of the conventions was that of
the Southern Publishers’ Convention,
which met at Grove Park Inn. The
publishers were so impressed with the

there being a large dance somewhere
in the city practically every night of
the week., The publishers were given
an informal dance at Grove Park Inn
and the big dinner-dance at the Inn
tonight ended the dancing for the

become members of the Asheville
Country Club, and many of the pub
lhishers took advantage of this to
gpend considerable time on the links.

Mitchell are popular this season and
gay parties leave weekly to spend the
day on the highest peak of the Rock
fes.
Soclety girls of Asheville continue
to “do their bit” in various ways for
some of the various war orgaifea
tions. The Red Cross and the Wom
an's League for National Service are
the more popular, but the Navy
League and other similar associations
draw their share. The most popular
work at present seems to be the don
ning of overalls and attending a class
in motor construction by a number of
