Women to Welcome Soldiers.
Every woman in the Atlan‘a Wom
an's Club has been asked t» place a
lighted candle in the window of her
home Christmas eve and Christmas
"night. as a welcome to the soldiers
in At'anta. The resolution to this
effect, which passed at the meeting
Monday afternoon, asked that every
;home in the city carry out the same
hosnitable greeting to the men in the
camp who pass the homes and . wish
to receive ? welcome,
Another feature of the meeting was
a r.solution asking that the members
pledge themselves to give no Christ
mas presents except to one or more
soldiers who are strangers in Atlanta.
The c¢'ub went on record as oppos
ing all idle rumors affecting the peace
and welfare of the community or in
