Mr. Fears, of Griffin, county food ad
ministrator for Henry County, addressed
the meeting and explained the plans and
purposes of the Government for food
control. As a means of attaining the
desired end, he asked for a committee
from the Woman's Club to assist in se
curing a county agent for Henry County

meet at the clubhouse on West
Baker street Monday, February 11, at
3 p. m. Members are requested to be
prepared to present membership cards

After a brief business session, pre
sided over by the president, Mrs. J.
N. McßEachern, an interesting pro
gram will be rendered. Miss Alice
Baxter will speak on “Current Events”
and Mrs. Hamilton Douglas on “Par
liamentary Law.” Mrs, Albert Spald
ing, Jr., chairman, will present Miss
Mirian Sheppard, who will speak on
“Local Industrial Conditions,” also
Mrs. Alford C. Wilson, who will speak
of her plans for *“War Gardens,” giv
ing an outline of her already well laid
plans for her summer’s work.
The club will assume charge of the
restaurant in the basement of the
Connally Building, beginning Febru
ary 16, for a short period.

THE Woman's Auxiliary to the
Young Men's Christian Associa
ton met Friday afternoon at the Y,
M. C: A. Building on Luckie street,
i\drs. W. F. Clark, president, presid
ng.
After short devotional exercises re
ports were made by committees ap
pointed to carry magagzines, books
and scrapbooks to Fort McPherson
and Camp Gordon on Tuesday and
Thursday of each week. Members of
the auxiliary were assigned by Mrs.
Clark to the various circles, whose
chairmen were appointed at a prev
ious meeting.
Vice presidents were elected to rep
resent the auxiliary in the churches
of the city. The annual reception to
be held in March is being planned for
the vice presidents. A motion by Mrs.
A. D. Wood that the circles of the
auxiliary have alternately one after
noon of each week at Camp Gordon
was made.
A motion that music and one or
two evening entertainments be fur
nished Camp Gordon under the aus
pices of the Woman's Auxiliary
passed.
The auxillary unanimously agreea
to co-operate in every way with the
Atlanta Fulton County unit, woman's
committee of the Council of National
Defense.

and prospective members are urged
to attend either morning or after

day if possible. Mrs. E. A. Beach is
in charge of garment-making, assist
ed by Mrs. T. C. Jerome, and this
work will be taught in the rooms,
thus enabling women not already fa
miliar with same to learn how to
properly make various garments
called for by Red Cross headquarters.
