Colling Court-martial
WASHINGTON, April 13 —The
President has ordered that Second
Lieutenant Herman A. Collins, 1524
Infantry, be recleased from arrest and
restored to duty and the sentence of
the court-martial in his case is dis
approved. He was tried at Camp
Shelby, Miss., last December on the
charge of conspiracy and attempting
to defraud the Government.
In the case of Captain Andgrson H.
French, Jr., 154th Infantry, Camp
Beauregard, La., the sentence of dis
missal from the army is approved by
the President. He was an officer in
the Second Mississippi and was
charged with drunkenness.

Forsyth Postal Thief
MACON, April 13.—Charged with
assisting Grady Koonce in the Forsyth
postoffice -.safe blowing and robbery
last February, Lucas C. Bachelor has
been brought here from Cincinnati.
Bachelor denies he had anything to
do with the crime.
Several hundred dollars in money
and stamps were taken from the For
syth office. A night policeman pur
sued the burglars and wounded
Koonce. Koonce pleaded guilty and
Judge Speer, of the United District
Court, sentenced him to serve three
yvears in the Federal prison at Atlanta. ,

Half of Floyd's Loan
Quota Taken Frida
ROME, April 13.—At an open atr
rally on Broad street last night, last
ing until midnight and attended by
thousands of persons, $250,000 of Lib
erty bonds were bought, being more
than half of Floyd County’s quota.
The war relic train was crewded by
people eager to see the trophies and
to hear the soldiers who had been in
the great war.
The rest of the county’s quota will
be subseribed in a short time, it is be
lieved.

NEWNAN, April 13.—The Board of
Education has elected B. F. Pickett,
of Savannal, priacipal of the Newnan
schools.
Mr. Pickett left here several yearsi
ago to take charge of the Savannah
schools. He will take active charge of
the schools at the opening session in
September.
