Caruso had his favorites in this
town, too, among the members of
the fair sex, though there was never
any hopes of his marrying an At
lanta woman, as all to whom he paid
attention were already married.
One of these Atlanta women
friends of Caruso, with much gen
erosity of spirit, describes the new
Signora Caruso as a very beautiful
young woman, with charm and a
talent for music, She further says
that Caruso and his bride have been
engaged about six months, and both
are very much in love.
The New York papers say that the
marriage was “quiet” and sudden
because the bride's parents did not
give their consent.
Her papa, when asked why he
didn't attend the wedding, replied
that he wasn’'t asked-——so there!
The bride had no specially pre
pared trousseau-—so news reporters
inslst they have found out—how
or why I can't say. Anyway, no
one here but wishes Caruso a happy
married life. Most of them doubt
if he will have it, but that’s neith~
er here nor there, It probably will
not be his fault if he doesn't, as
he is so happy-hearted, generous
and easy to get along with, as all
who have known him professionally,
or socially, will testify, that it will
be hard for his wife to convince
the public that it is his fault if
she ever decides to go to Reno, as
young brides of wealthy, middle
aged men so frequently do.
