CHATTANOOGA, TENN., Feb. 15
Officers here Friday following the
trail of negro store robbers un
earthed in the basement of one of
the city's largest apartment houses
what is said to be the biggest” and
most complete moonshine still ever
found in this section. As a result
H. Kelso Hailey, purchasing agent
of the Chattanooga Sewer Pipe and
Fire Brick Company, one of the
city’'s most prominent young men,
both in business and socially, is un
der arrest, together with. a number
of negroes, charged with working in
the still. Haley owns the apartment
building in which the still is loeated,
and he is charged with operating it.
The apparatus uncovered ap
proached the dignity of a real manu
facturing plant and was constructed
with all the skill of an efficient me
chanic. The still has a capacity of
2560 gallons of mash, producing 100
gallons of whisky per run. A full
equipment of electric motors and
corn grinding mills, sprouting vats
for the mash and corn storage faeili
ties, was found, in some cases con
structeéd with concrete, with an eye
to permanence and efficiency,
Electric fans took care of the fumes
and vapors and a drain connecting
with the sewers furnished an outlet
for the mash after distillation
Arrested with Hailey is ,a negro
“The stars incline, but do mot compel.”
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 1919,
Contrary influences are strong today, ae
cording to astrology. While Venus and Ju
piter are in benefic aspect, Uranus and
Mars are adverse.
Persistently the stars seem m'«rmo
much of new interest connec with
army affairs. Changes and reorganiza
tion as well as activity for troops appear
to be presaged by the planets.
Trouble or difference of opition over
aviation as indicated and final develop~
ment that will be extraordinary are prog
nosticated.
Engineers and all who are engaged omn
steel construction should be careful to
avoid aeccidents under this sway,
Woman shéuld find this a fairly lucky
day. It is fortunate as a wedding day.
since there is promise of much prosperity
as well as lasting love. '
This should be a favorable aspeet undgr
which to take a new position or to be
gin any novel or unusual enterprize.
A great financial undertaking is fore
shadowed and through it success will come.
A man from the South will gain fame.
Beginning next month new names are
to be written before the public eye and
new leaders are to be recognized. This
means that women as well as men will
rise from mediocrity. Actors and ac
tresses have the best guldance for pecu
niary gain during this sway, which adds
money rather than honor to their records,
Municipal theaters are to multiply in
the coming year, if the stars are refd
aright.
Music comers into a pertod of great
promige. Musicians will attain a npew
place in community life and with teach
ersihreceive recognition that brings in
creased remunerations, astrologers fore
tell.
Persons whose birthdate it is may have
rather ‘g“uuious year in business affairs,
They should avoid quarrels or dissensions.
