THREE REASONS WHY WE SHOULD ATTEND (HURCH : "
L It is God’s eommand : ““Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together.”” (lod meets with
His people in the holy sanctnary to own and bless them.
2. To worship God, our Father and partner in all the affairs of life. The giver of every good and
perfect gift. We should love, honor and worship Him, because of His goodness exereised over «us in
ereation in providemee and in redemption. '
3. For the sake of our example and influence. We should be in our place in the chureh, not only
that we may be blessed, but that we may help and be a blessing to others,
?A. EDMONDSON, Pastor St. Paul’s Methodist Chureh.

The chase started Thursday after
noon just as Policemen Meek and Hole

Kern to turn him over to the military
authorities. Attorney Buchanan hur

and asked that the prigsoner be held
there until he could have habeas corpus

by Judge Humphries. Chiaf Beavers
was notified, and immediately mltd
City Attorney Mayson over the tele=

have to hold the prisoner and await
legal proceedings,
Then Officers Meek and HoNey re
sumed their trip to the army post. In
the meantime, Attorney Buchanan hast

Attorney Buchanan, undaunted, them
sought to have Judge Humphries order
Chief Beavers to produce the prisoner
anyway. The chief, however, stated
that the military authorities had in

after Kern once was in their k ng.
Captain H, J. Rosenberg, assistant com
mander at Fort McPherson, testified
that Kern now is held for trial as a
deserter by the military authorities,
Attorney Buchanan, on leaving the
courtroom, declared his purgm at once
