Joseph Habersham Chapter, D. A,
R., will hold a memorial service at
Bt, Mark Church in the lecture room
Saturday afternoon, when Mrs, War-‘
ren D. White will have charge of the
program. 'The service men in whose
honor tnis memorial program will ho‘
given are William Louis LeConte,
Douglas Lysla and Walter Kendrick
Springer. The relatives of these men

on this oceasion. All patriotic organ

Plans Mothers’ Day.
) The Jewish Educational Alliance, of
which Mrs. Vietor Kriégshaber is
president, will meet Sunday afternoon
at the Jewish Alliance Assembly Hall,
Nos. 88 and 90 Capitol avenue, when
mothers’ day will be established as a
monthly feature of the programs. This
‘day will be sponsored by the Young
Woman's Hebrew Assocfation, and a
program of delightful music has been
arranged by the Glee Club of the alli
ance,
Mothers of the alliance will be spe
~cial guests of the occasion,
Dr. Lydia Bhauke will be the speak
er, and will talk on “Home Influence.”
The Griffith Mandolin and Guitar Club
will give several numbers. Members
of the alliance will give readings and

Entertains Soldiers.
The Agnes Lee Chapter of U, D. C,,
of Decatur, entertained at dinner on
Wednesday at 1 o'clock, at the Chap
ter House.
Twenty-five convalescent soldiers
of Fort MecPherson were taken to
Decatur by the ladies in their cars,
No special program was planned,
but a pleasant and informal afternoon
was spent. The young ladies of De
catur were asked to assist in their
entertainment,

Circle No. 8 of Bt. Mark Methodist
Church held a business meeting at the
home of Mrs, J. W, Hurt, No. 85 East
Fifth street, Wednesday afternoon,

Baptist Woman's Missionary Union,
is in Atlanta for the month of March,

Aviator's Vest
Gift for Bishop.
Members of the Atlanta Chapter,
D. A. R, will present Colonel W, A,
Bishop, noted Canadian ace, with an
aviation vest made by members of
the chapter during during his visit to
Atlanta Thursday to lecture on “Air
Fighting in Flanders."
The vest will be presented at the
banquet to be tendered Colonel Bish
op by the Southern Aero Club at the
Capital City Club Thursday evening
at 6 o'clock. In announcing their in
tention of presenting the vest, the la
dies of the chapter said they “wished
the privilege of giving the vest to
one whose services had been so val
udable in making the world safe for
democracy.”
Miss Hornaday
Goes to Newnan,
Miss Nina Hornady, president of the
Georgia Branch of the Daughters of
1812, will go to Newnan to attend
the memorial service to be held there
for Mrs. Hardaway, one of the most
prominent and popular c¢lubwomen in
Newnan. Miss Hornaday will spend
the latter part of the week at Newnan
with friends.

To Go to Africa.
! Miss Susan Anderson, of Kast Lin
den, is now in Baltimore, Md.. study
ing the language and customs of
Africa, preparatory to her leaving in
July for that country, where she
will devote her time to/ missionary
work, é
Miss Anderson was formerly gecre
tary of the Georgia Woman's Work
Society, and had until now been una
ble to follow her plans owing to the
Government restrictions.

Memorial Services
Held for D. A, R,
A number of Atlanta Daughters of
the American Revolution will go down
to Newnan for the week-end to at
tend the memorial services to be held
for Mrs. R. H. Hardaway, who, until
her death, was regent of the Newnan
D. A, R. chapter. Mrs. Hardaway
was also prominent in civic club
work and was an active member of
the Daughters-of the Confederacy, A
beautiful program has been arranged
for the occaslion, and after the church
service the D. A. R. will go in a body
to the grave and cover it with flow
ers as a testimonial of their appre
clation of the splendid work Mrs,
Hardaway has done.

At Nurses’ Club.
The Atlanta Registered Nurses'
Club entertained with a delightful in
formal party at the club building, on
Porter place, Wednesday evening,
when several convalescent soldiers
from Fort McPherson were guests,
Miss Feebeck, president of the At
lanta Registered Nurses' Club, was
assisted in entertaining the guests by
Miss Martha Wells, of Fort McPher.
