concert in the Brenau Auditorium
Monday evening. Miss Jane Cater,
Perry, scored a big suecess, while
Misses Frances Curr and Emma Love
Fisher were ecalled back for several
encores, The Brenau girls hope to
have them again next year. |

Last Saturday evening the Clionian
Society gave a delightful program in
novel form. In the clubroom of a
certain town were a number of girls
who were graduates of Bessie Tift
and who had founded a Clionian Club.
On this oceasion there was a visitor
from Bessie Tift who told the girls of
the new buildings and imprnvemems‘
at Bessie Tift since their graduation.
In their enthusiastic way they n!l'
sang the Clionian song, and since
there was no planned program for thel
club meeting, the girls gave an im
promptu program, The program
closed with singing of several old
melodies with guitar accompanists,
The cabinet of the ('Honian Society
entertained the cabinet of the Kappa
Delta Society at a lawn party Satur
day evening from 5 to 7 o'clock. The
campus around the flagpole presenmdl
a picture of a lovely garden with its |
small white tea tables scattered
about, its green and white benches
and vine-covered pergolas, It formed
a beautiful setting for the attractive- |
ly dressed girls. Miss Whitaker, the
Clionian president, in her words nf"

in the air and the girls laughed glee- |
fully, played “drop the handkerchief.” !

LAST Monday the student body
gave up the rest day and met
classes as usual. This was to offset
the day lost on Aoril 1,
At the meeting of the Joseph Hab
ersham Chapter, D. A, R, on Tues
day morning Miss Morel's French
class from the Elizabeth Mather Col
lege gave a French playlet written
by their teacher. This afforded a
great deal of pleasure to all who un
derstood French.
Wednesday Miss Marie Van Gelder
gave the last two operalogues on
“Cavalleria Rusticana,’ and “l 1 Pag
liacei.” This completes the course and
the students expressed themselves as
well satisfied.
At two chapels this week the pu
pils of Miss Margaret Erwin in ex
pression gave a demonstration of
their work before the student body.
The journalism department has pre
pared the scrapbook. of news notes
and press notices relating to the va
rious people and activities of the
Elizabeth Mather College during the
last year. The book is well organ
ized and is an improvement on the
one compiled in each of the last two
years.
The ninth performance of the “Wild
Rose” was given by the Glee Club,
