Picdmont Driving
Club Dinner-bance
The dinner-dance at the Piedmont
Driving Club Saturday evening as
sembled a group of visitors and a
number of club members. The tables
were decorated with pink and white
Liyvdrangeas in baskets. Dinner was
served in the ballroomy at 8 o'clock.
Dr. and Mrs, Glenville Giddings
wera the honor guests in a party a
which Mr. and Mrs, Robert Foreman
‘were hosts. Miss Kitty Brack, of
San Francisco, Cal, who is visiting
Miss Caroline Blount, was the central
figure in a group entertained by Miss
Elizabeth Hawkins; Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel C. Dinkins were hosts at a
dinner for Miss Dora Candler, of Dal
las, Texas, who is their visitor dur
ing this month. Mrs. Alston Simpson,
of Washington, D, C,, also was num
bered among the visitors,

Edward Alsop, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
M. Sciple, Mr. and Mrs. Philip L'En
gle, Mr, and Mrs, Arthur-Clarke, Ma.
Summer Opening. \
Saturday afternoon, May 17, the At-
Janta Athletic Club at East Lake will
officially open the bathhouse and the
swimming feature of the club. The club
has the services of an expert life
saver, who will be on duty in the aft
ernoons until the first of June and then
mornings and afternoons as well as
evenings if arranged for. The club will
also have the dancing terrace opening
the same evening, serving dinner from
7:30 until 10 o'clock. The mamufament
has secured the services of Robichaus’
famous orchestra of New Orleans, which
will play for the Junior League Frolic,
for tge dancing. The tables -will be ar
ranged on thé terrace, and the tables
decorated with vases of varied colored
roses.

Mrs. T. W. McAllister will give a
luncheon Friday in honor of Mrs, Irene
B. Thomas, whose mrriafio takes place
in June to Charles C, Willlams.
The guests will be Mrs. Thomas, Mrs.

sedge, Mrs. C. H. Willilams, Mrs. E. F.
