The chief social event of the week was
the society vaudeville, given by the Sol
diers’ Relief Association Thursday night at
the Grand, to raise a fund for a barbecue
they will give the returned soldiers of
Richmond County. A number of the best
known amateur talent in Augusta took
part in songs and dances and special skits
and the affair was a great success from
every standpoint. Anwong those who took

Burum, Eleanor Wright, Deryl Hilton, Ce

The Eighteen cavalrymen left at Camp
Hancock as caretakers entertained Wed
nesday mnight with a dance at the hostess
house at the camp. The affair was chape
roned by Mrs, W. W. Frey and the dance
was followed hy a supper.

ter returned with him from Atlanta, where
they had gone to meet him.

T HE College Park Woman's Club
: held the last meeting of the
yyear at the clubroom on Wednesday
day afternoon at 3 o'clock. The occa
gion was one of especial significance
and beauty, being the afternoon for
the reports of the year's committees,
and the sweetpea shower. The re
| ports were of great interest and the
sweetpeas were exquisite and were
shown in large quantities. The mu
| gie committee furnished two lovely
chorus numbers and after the pro
| gram ice cream and cake were served.

Thursday afternoon. Lovely refresh
ments were served and each childish
heart was del&ghted with the unique
souvenirs of the occasion, which were
balloons of every color.
