At the Vaudette.
A wonderful study in “courage is af
forded in ‘The Sheriff’s Son,” the new
Paramount picture in whieh Charles Ray
is starred, and which is being shown at
the Vaudette today and Tuesday. The
hero is a young who has inherged a great
fear from his mother, «*oo witnessed an
attack on his father Lefore the boy's
birth. He grows up with this scnse of
fear hanging over him, but the story is
constructive throughout and shows how
He battles splendidly to overcome his
weakness and how he succeeds, winning
the girl he loves in the bargain.
Ziegfeld Stars at Forsyth,
The Forsyth attraction for Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday, ‘“Prudence on
Broadway,” is a rattling good film for
Olive Thomas, who first won fame and
fortune atop the Ziegfeld Roof. It 1a
not only far above the ordinary in plot
and rapid action, but is filled to over
flowing with humorous moments. It is
at these times that Miss Thomas is at
her best.
Francis McDonald," who did such ex
cellent work in Miss Thomas’' “Toton,” is
admirable as the successful lover, while
the supporting cast of unusual length in
cludes a list of well-known Triangle play
ers.
Donghbey Has New Problem.
Now! The end of an old world; the
beginning of a new! And woman queen
of the earth! What will she do with her
power? ‘What of her place in the fam
ily ? In polities? Will she keep the
doughboy's job, or the doughboy's heart
or hoth?
In “Oh, You Women!"”, the Rialto at
ytraction this week, John Emerson and
Anita Loos tackle this great timely prob
lem and mold it into a film story that
glows with humor and throbs with power
and human sympathy.
It's a story of a soldier who, when he
came home, found the men in the kitch
en and the women . in—trousers!
You’'ll laugh—and think-—when you see
“Oh, You Women!”

At Leew’'s Grand.
The Bernevici Brothers in a musical
classic are featured on the vaudeville bill
at Loew’s Grand for Monday, Tuesday
and Wednesday. They style their offer
ing ‘“A Night in Venige’ and entertain
with high class and popular music on
the violin. Frank Hartley, the high ex
plosive of jugglery, will introduce variety
juggling; Scott and Christie, “The Dixie
Boy and the Yankee Girl,”” have a comedy
skit, ‘“Caught in the Storm;”’ Lieutenant
Harry Berry and Miss present original
bits of variety, and Browning and Davis
are blackface comedians.
On the screen, in’ addition to the fea
ture picture, Emmy Wehlen in “An Ama
teur Adventuress,” Loew's Current Events
will show interesting scenes in connec
tion with the arrival of the Eighty-sec
ond Division on the transport ‘‘Sierra.’”
At Keith’s Lyric.
That syncopated musical show, 'Pret
ty Baby,” with Eddie Ray as its star at
the head of a company of 25, about 17
of whom are striking girls, furnishes a
most acceptable headline offering at
Keith's Lyric the first half of this week.
The offering is doubtless the biggest
musical comedy ever presented in vaude
ville in Atlanta. The Princess Nai Tai
Tai, Oriental songbird, and the Three
Rios in a comedy novelty, are among
other attractions.

Of Textile Machinery
(By International News Service.)
LONDON. May 24.—Poland is in urgent
need of textile machinery, according to
information reaching this city. The man
ufacturing industry in cities like Lodz has
been ruined by the Germans, who remov

they could find. Machinery belting is
greatly needed and- motor plows, while
fats and wheat take precedence in the
shortage of food. There is great demand
for tea, coffee, cocoa, aimonds, raisins, figs,
oranges, lemons, dates and peppery while
al sorts of clothes, boots, shoes anr{ drugs
are scarce.
