The young people of the Methodist
Church were invited to the parsonage
Tuesday evening. After a social hour a

The Royal Arch Masons gave a barbe
cue Tuesday at noon in the Masonic Hall.
A lendid orchestra furnished music and
lflmber of short addresses were given.
The wives and sweethearts of the Masons,
and some out-of-town Masons were guests
of the chapter.

Plans were discussed for the erection of a
club house and a committee appointed for
investigation. Refreshments were served
following the business meeting. Those

HE Methodist Sunday school enjoyed
a delightful picnic Wednesday out at
Hayston.
A very happy occasion of the past week
was the picnic given by Mrs. Edward
Hutchine on Friday afternoon to the mem
bers of her Sunbeam Band, of the Bap
tist Church, at her home. A number of
games were played and much enjoyed,
at the conclusion of which dainty refresh
ments were served. There were fifty
guests present.
Mrs. C. A. Franklin entertained a few
friends very delightfully Sunday evening
at supper, in compliment to her daugh
ter’'s house guests. The color scheme of
blue and white, Phi Delta Theta fra
ternity colors, were used in pretty effeet
in the table decorations. Covers were
laid for Misses Jane Cater, of Perry;
Macy Rose Brown, of Americus; Louise
Strange and Maggie Perry, of Winder;
Katherine Thomas, Ida Shellnutt, of San
dersville; Helen Cox, of Monroe; Josephine

uated from Shorter College, Rome, re
turned home last week. She was accom
panied home by her sister, Miss Florence
Turner, who attended commencement,

Greenville, 8. (0., where the former holds
a responsible position.

second Division, has received his honor
able discharge from the army and re
turned home Tuesday night after several
months' active service overseas.
Miss Bmith, of Shreveport, one of Agnes
Scott’s students who has been the guest
of Misses Caroline and Lucy Wooten, re
turned home last week after a most de
lightful visit. Misses Wooten and Smith
were entertained by the Kappa Alpha
fratarnity during Emeory University com
