Parties at
Driving Club
GROUPS of interesting parties
were entertained on Satur
day evening at Piedmont Driving
Club, which was a large social af
fair of the week end. The tables
were placed on the broad terrace of
the club and a special orchestra fur
nished music for dancing until 12
o'clock.
Robert Maddox was host at a
dinner party, his guests including
Mr. and Mrs. William H. Kiser,
Mr. and Mrs, John W, Grant, Mr.
and Mrs. James L. Dickey, Mr. and
Mrs. W. Doughty Manley and Mr.
and Mrs: Henry Mm.er.
Maj. Clark Howell entertadned a
group of the younger society set
at dinner in compliment to the
members of his week end house
party, including Capt. Bob McWhor
ter of Athens, Lieut. Charlie Brown
of Marietta, Lieut. George Barrett
of Augusta and Edwin Broyles.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Joseph
Walsh of New York City, who are
spending the week in the city, were
honoree . at the dinner party given
by Mrs. Elizabeth Winship Bates.
