Junior League Will Open
Season Tuesday With Big
Driving Club Reception
swhose guldance the league girls did
:t?uir war work., The mothers of the
ongaged girls, of the “overseas
sgirls” and of the debutantes also
Wwill be guests.
: Quite a considerable party this
‘will be, as you can plainly see, Mrs,
{Edwln Peeples will preside as pres-
Jddent of the league, and all sorts
‘of attractive features will interest
wnd entertain those who attend
nthis, the first large fall affair of

Not ‘Softly Played'—
THE bagpipes will play at the
' wedding of Cornella Dun-
Wody and James Cameron on Sep
tember 13. Mr. Cameron, as his
mame shows, is of Scotch ancestry,
and it was his wish that the un
asual music should be included in
:tpe' program for the wedding.
" Another unusual feature of the
musical program will be the ren
dition of some original nuptial
music, never played in public be
fore. It was written by a friend
Y Mrs, Ben Lee Crew, and Mra.
Crew obtained it for the wedding
of her young friend, Perhaps a sub
#titute may yet be found for the
sthohengrin march and that Men
welssohn tune.
! ' Which reminds me that a pro-
Epective bridegroom with a sense
humor, in discussing selections
Svhieh were “to be softly played by
Ahe bride’s aunt during the cere-
Jnony,” said he didn’t care what
dhey played so they didn't choose
#Humoresque.”
+ “Now, I don't see any appropri
teness in having '‘Oh, promise me
hat some day you'll be mine, ren-
Jdered after the promise had been
‘ainched’ Jong ago, but that will not
dother me if you like it—only, not
#Humoresque,’ if you please!"
" One could hardly blame him, at
that!

Druid Hills Debut—
WKEN Emily Robinson has her
debut party it will be held in
the beautiful Druid Hills home her
father has recently purchased from
I"zl‘ut Adair. Ten years ago,
when Druid Hills was only a dream
in the mjnds of' the Adairs, the two
brothers choge the beautiful sites
on which they erected thelr lovely
homes, as a nucleus for the many
handsome residences which have
made that section of the city
most beautiful tn or near At
la :
+ The Forrest Adair home has al
# been a hospitable one, but
never witnessed a debutante
. The most brilliant affair
held there was the wedding
geremony of Elizabeth Adair and
Gregg, a few years ago.
{ Now that Mr. and Mrs. Robinson
occupy the beautiful home, the
r set may confidently expect
@ happy times there, besides the
t party, which is sure to be
of the most enjoyable of the
geries to be given this fall. It's
r early to think of that won
-1 marble bathing pool which
been the scene of S 0 many gay
jes during the Adalr occupancy,
by next summer, when Jennie
urns from Oaksmere, I'll venture
_say that the swimming pool will
ish some (lelt times to the
members of the st | younger set.

Finishing Up—
RING these near-fall days, the
plans for future affairs s al
meost all that can be called upon
to make interesting chatter. First
in importance come the brides and
the debutantds and then the girls
who are going off for a year or so
4t various schools, preparing them
for the social arena when
ir time comes to enter the de
te circle. Three of the most
ractive of the school girl set
will be enrolled at Oaksmere, the
Rhtonab!o finighing school near
iladelphia, this year. Allce

> Stearns, Jennie Robinson and Wil
motine Perdue go to Oaksmere early
in Septemper. Mary Cohen returns
to Washington and will enter Gun
ston Hall. KEmmie Nixon and Sue
Bucknell are two very attractive
members of the young set who will
be in Washington this winter, at
the National Cathedral School. Jen
n:» Johnson, our prize swimmer in
the schoolgirl set, enters Vassar,
and Anne Stringfellow goes to
Randolph Macon. Dorothy Dodd
will be at Bt, Mary's in Ralelgh and
in order that Winston-Salem shall
not lack at least one Atlanta rep
resentative, Alice Smith has chosen
that place,
Rebecca Harmon will go to Mary
Baldwin. A number of the girls
who are popular in this set will
remain In Atlanta, and, strange to
gay, from their point of view in this
get, the stay-at-homes are the
lucky ones. “Oh, they'll get to go
to all the Tech footbhall games and
things this winter and we'll be 'way
up there in the cold.” bewails one
of the Oaksmere prospects. Which
woulé surprise Oaksmere, I guess,
but just shows what Atlanta girls
think of Atlanta.

House Party in Honolulu.
HAZEL NHELSON, who leaves
Atlanta today with her moth
er to join Colonel Nelson at Fort
Benning, declares that she expects
to have a house party for her At
lanta friends as soon as she is set
tled again-—and wherever, even if it
is in Honolulu, as seems probable
now, |
Karly in her career as an Atlan
tan, in the days before the war,
when Colonel Nelson was at wor
don, Hazel and Atlanta formed a
mutual admiration society, and of
all the “army girls" called here by
the exigencies of army life, Miss
Nelson has easily been the most
popular. In explanation of this, I |
can offer IHazel's Southern ances
try.
Although she had never lived iln ‘
the South, she has always had
Southern sympathies, and Atlanta
has served to crystallize them into
an undivided loyalty to Dixle.
Bhe has this sentiment by rights,
too, being a great-great-grandnrece
of Light Horse Harry Lee and re
lated to many Virginia families,
through her mother. She is, more
over, a very ehnrmlnr girl ane a
talented musician, so it Is no won
der that Atlanta feels quite badly
over her departure u}d that of the
family. When Colonel Nelson went
to France Mrs. Nelson and Hazel
elected to stay in their Juniper
street home. In consequence there
of, Atlanta has been their home for
a longer time than any other one
place,
A series of interesting visits will
follow a month's stay at Columbia
for Hazel. She goes first to Boston
to visit a schoolmate, Miss Silvia
Benson, daughter of the famous
landscape artist, Frank Benson,
whose pictures may be seen in the
Corcoran Art Gallery., Later she
will be a guest of Miss Charlotte
Melcher at the latter's home on the
Hudson. Perhaps by that time,
Colonel Nelson will be “settled”
and the house party wlil be on tap,

Among the most attractive Geor
gla society belles who will be here
for the reunion are Odelle Hunt of
Columbus and Anne Willingham or
Macon, Both have frequently vis
ited here and have been muchly en
tertained. Anne is a chic littie
brunette beauty and one of Macon's
most popular girls, Odelle Hunt
vigsited Nellle Dodd some time ago,
and Nellie is now planning a visit
to Columbus in the early winter as
the guest of Miss Hunt.
Amog the charming Atlanta wom
en who have already been given
official honors for the reunion are
Mrs. Walter Andrews, Mrs. George
Raine, Mrs. George Francis Willis
and Mrs. Charles Rice. A bevy of
girls will act as maids and sponsors
to the various officials.

Gray Hair
’
Electrically
Restored
A short time ago a woman
came to us, desiring to have
her gray hair restored in a
hurry. We colored her hair to
answer her immediate need,
and then began the electrical
treatments to permanently re
store its original color.
By the time that one artificial
coloring would have worn oftf
the electrical treatment had
done its good work—her hair
was permanently restored and
needed no further coloring.
Her friends were unable to de
tect either treatment.
We can restore your gray hair
just as we did hers. Private
booths for treatments.
