day wns the dinner party given by
Mr. and Mra. Kdwin at the Kincha
foonee Country Club complimentary to Mr,
and Mrs. Dermott Shemwell of Lexington,

About thirty-five little giris and boys
were invited to the hemo of Dr. and Mra.
A. W. Wood on Tift street Monday after
noon to enjoy a party given in honor of
little Miss Banks Carter Wood, who cele~
brated her fourth birthday. Games, SOngs
aud dances were enjoyed on the lawn, after
which the childrer v -=s gerved ice Cream
and cake and g ven souvenirs. Mra, Wood
was assisted in entertalning by Mrs. W,
(.. Dunham, Mra L. D. Acker, Mra J. H.
MeNeill and Miss Gertie Carter,

ning for a social meeting, at which the
