Reunion
aGRANGH.—Miss Christine Daniel
and Alton Daniel entertalned at a
party on Friday night at their home
on South Lewis street. Pink and white
was the color scheme used, the house
being deocrated im roses, amd the color
motiff used also in the refreshments. Mise
Francis Matthews of Atlanta and Miss
Lucile Market of LaGrange, presided at
the punch bowl. Mrs. Charles Market as
sisted in receiving the guests.
On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Stm
mons entertained at a family reunion at
their home near LaGrange. A barbecue
was served in the grove where tables had
been arranged for this occasion. Twenty
members of the family were present.
Mrs. V. R. O'Neal entertained on Friday
merning M honer of her guest, Miss
Roberta Black of Wilmington, Del. Doui
noes and bridge were played. Twenty were
present.
Misses Lowise and Doothy Park enter
tained on Thursday morning at their home
on HHI street in honor of Miss Elizabeth
Rakestraw of Louisville, Ky., who & the
guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
O. A. Dunsen, and Master Duncan and
Margaret Culbersen, who left Friday for
Greenville, 8. C., to make their home

dance at the Sara Ferrell Hall on Tues
day evening. The guests of honor were
Misses Elizabeth Konta of Atlanta, Gladys
Savary and Mrs. Ruby Davis of Inverness,
Fla. A number attended from West Point
and Hogansville,
Miss Emily Park was hostess at a dance
on Tuesday evening at her home on Broad
street complimentary to her guest, Miss
Francis Daniel, of Decatur. Fifteen couples
were present,
Mrs. Frank Birdsong entertained at a
dance at her home on Hill street Friday
evening. Seventy-five guests were pres
ent.
Mrs. Louise Dozier gave a domino party
on Wednesday afternoon at her home on
Mclendon street. There were four tables
of players.
Miss Bessie Perry was hostess to a num
ber of friends on Mongay evening.
Mrs, Joe Frosolono and daughter, Louise,
have returned from a visit to Alken, S. C.
Prof. and Mrs. Eulah B. Smith, members
of the faculty of the Riverside Military
Academy 'at Gainesville, are the guests
of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Smith.
Miss Mae Dunson has returmed homae
after attending a house party at Warm
Springs.
Mrs. Howard Arnold has returned te
her home in Columbia, 8. C., after a visit
to Mrs. L. C. Doe and Mrs. J. D. Hud

have purchased an orange grove and will
make their home.
Misses Janet Wells and Ethel Pharr, who
have been spending the summer in New
York, have returned.
Misses Lula and Kate Wilkerson were
the guests of Mrs. Montague Boyd of At
lanta this week.
Misses Mary Nix and Lutie Hudson have
returned home from Chautauqua, N. Y.,
and Washington, D. C., where they have
spent several weeks.

Bathing Beauties, will appear in per
son on the stage simultaneously with
the screen showing on the comedy
king’s latest and biggest production,
“Yankee Doodle in Berlin.” The en
gagement at the Atlanta is limited to
one week, with two performances
daily at 2:30 and 8:30.

Mrs. Greer Maxwell entertained at a
beautiful iawn party on Saturday after
noon at her home in Church street, the
affair being in celebration of her daugh
ter, Vardelle's sixth birthday. The lawn
was tastefully decorated with palms,
ferns and pot plants. About thirty young
children enjoyed the occasion.
The members of the Junior Bridge Club
were delightfully entertained Tuesday
afternoon with Miss Mareola Leonard as
hostess.. The home was beautifully deco
rated with pot plants and garden flow
ers.
The U. D. C. chapter gave a silver tea
at the home of Mrs. W. W. Childs Friday
evening for the benefit of the cemetery
fund. Quite a nice sum was realized.

WAR MOTHERS TO MEET

“War Mothers” will be held
next Tuesday, September 2, at 4
p. m. in Cable Hall, 82 North
Broad street. There will be music,
besides appeinting of lelegates to
“War Mothers of America” con
vention to convene in Baltimore.
Many other interesting things about
our past and future work will be
discussed. A full attendance of
members is urged. Other mothers
not enrolled, and who never at

The children of the kindergarten
in the mill schools of LaGrange
will moke a unique exhibit at the
thrift department of the South
eastern Fair, They will send two
complete little homes built by their
own hands with their kindergarten
materials; the one illustrating the
home where thrift is practiced and
the other where waste is Indulged
in.
A savings society has been or
ganized In the kindergarten, which

savings socleties in all the schools.
