LARBLY ~The sewing party given
Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. J. H.
Butler complimenting her guest, Mrs,
Meri Underwood of Albany, Was one of
the prettiest entertainments of the late
gurtaner. In all apartments garden flow=-
ers of various pastel shades were used,
Mrs. Baggs and Miss Mattie Butler served
punch toroughout the afternoon

The sun parlors, porches and lawn were

terior lights shaded in pink. Pink dahlias,
palms and potted plants wero effectively
used, Musical numbers were rendered by
John Underwood on his cornet with pilano
sccompaniment by Miss Black,
Punch was served mrou&m.ut the eve
ning. Quite & large number of ihe high
school set were present.

Judge and Mrs. L. M. tamhbo was hosteas
Monday evening at a dinner and picture
show party In honor of Misses Fowler,
Black and Hattaway.
Other delightful affairs are being plan
ned for them during thelr stay. Among
them a plenic and swimming party at
Sheffield’s Mill with John Underwood and
Lynwood Alexander as hosts; a swimming

ington, D). C., where she will visit her sons,
Lieut. Willlam Smith before going on to
Schenectady, N. Y., where she will spend
the month of October with her eldest son,
Gordon Smith, Mrs. Smith will be Jjoined
in Washington by her daughter, Mrs. R.

head of the department of English
and history in Woodberry Hall,
The Woodberry School has had a
splendid enlistment for its high
school and colleglate classes, and
boarding pupils have been entered
from many Southern States and
various cities of Georgia,
The dormitories and grounds of
Woodberry Hall have been greatly
beautified and new equipment or
dered, This twelfth annual session
of the school promises to be the
greatest in its history. Miss Rosa
Woodberry, the founder and prin
cipal, has associated with her in the
faculty strong college and univers
sity women. She herself did her
university work at the University
of Georgla, through the courtesy or
the faculty when co-education was
but a great vision of the future,
