Substantial: Dependable: Economical
Buying furniture is not an every day oc
currence, therefore one should choose the store
as carefully as they do the pieces.
Myers-Miller have been quite as
successful at satisfying the trade as
we have in pleasing the peonle in
the matter of selections. Our furni
ture, you know, is built for service,
it is well made and highly finished
and thoroughly seasoned hard
woods.
It has been stated that good fur

advancing; also, it has been denied.

FROHSIN'S.—ReaIIy, truly, autumi
leaves, and fresh, fragrant goldenro
form the exquisite decorations |
Frohsin's windows and fairly breath
the real woodsy spirit of fall. In n
other windows are the real flower
used, thus making Frohsin's window:
very effective. In one, where only
the autumn leaves are used, the suits
and dresses are all in one shade—th¢
new fall color, brine red or ma
rocco, Blending harmoniously with
the mahogany panels and the 1 .ssel
leaves of autumn, the whole made a
pleasing and refreshing picture. The
second window displays evenmg
frocks in black and blues which com
bines very artistically with the fra
grant goldenrod and ruddy elderber
ries.
HIRSCH BROS.—Quite attractrve
are these windows with their show
ing of the early fall fashions in high
grade men's wear. Men's shoes in all
the new styles and popular shades,
like the patent and cloth top, the
pretty browns and snappy cordovans,
are interestingly displayed In one
window with suits, suitings, hats and
ties in the other. Ties in bright blues
with coin dots, make a splash of
color that blended well with the dark
browns and blacks of the suits and
hats.
ASKIN & MARINE.—A single vase
of chrysanthemums make a simple
but effective fall decoration for this
window. Suits and dresses are dis
played, one particularly pleasing style
being in blue poiret twill braid

H. G. LEWIS & CO.—A handsome
rown bolivia coat is the central mo
if in one of Lewis' attractive win
dows which are all decorated in palms
and beautiful wearing apparel for the
I"ashion Show. Lovely dresses, hand
some furs and stunning coat suits
feature one window, a most appealing
gown being one in blue georgette, the
skirt accordion pleated and the
blouse trimmed in silver embroidery.
The green palms against the cool
white panels formed a pretty back

J. M, HIGH COMPANY.—The an
tumn color scheme is fully carried out
in the several display windows of
this store. In each the blues and
browns and russet shades of early
fall are carried out, the suits, milli
nery and even the blouses displnying‘
this color motif. In the window dis
playing ready-to-wear, a handsome
suit in brown duvetyne is featured,
dlsos a coat in gray-green Dbolivia,
elaborately fur trimmed. A second
window shows all the attractive
styles in children’'s wear for fall and
winter, the handsome little frocks of
serge, satin and velvet causing much
comment. The blouse window in
which every new style of blouse that
is to be worn this fall is shown is
as interesting as attractive. The
third window is devoted to the milli
nery display, which in itself is a won
derful picture.
CHAMBERLAIN- JOHNSON - DU
BOSE CO.~—The six wonderful win
dows of this beautiful store never
presented a handsomer display than
for this Fall Fashion Show. Palms
and autumn flowers form the back
ground for a_ lavish and artistic ais
play of handsome gowns, lingerie and
draperies, In one of the windows 13
shown crepe de chine lingerie in dain
ty styles, and everything for the bou
doir from the pretty silken slippers to
the attractive little necessary caps.
Brocaded ribbons and black lace ef
fectively draped and festooned formed
another attractive window setting but
probably the most artistic and the
most admired of all is the ready-to
wear window in which two handsome
gowns stand out prominently. One,
in the new henna shade in duvetyne,
mole trimmed, is an exquisite crea
tion; a second in taupe also mole
trimmed is almost equally lovely. In
the drapery window, ’tis hard to con
ceive that human hands could so ef
fectively drape those beautiful iri
descent sequins, as to form a com
plete gown, achieving an effect that
would deceive even the closest ob
servers into believing that the frock
was the work of some noted French
artist,
MRS, C. H. SMITH, MILLINERY—
A study in burnt orange and blue
is this little millinery shop with its
two windows vying with each other
in displaying attractive fall millinery.
Dahlias and wild flowers form the
decorative scheme while hats in blue
and black, trimmed in touches of
burnt orange carry out the color
scheme, In the other window chic
hats in the new copper shade that is
popular, are shown,
KEELY COMPANY.—Slightly dis.
ferent to any other store is the fall
display in the Keely Company's win-;
dows. The autumn idea is exempli
fied in the showing of attractive
woolen suitings draped effectively,
!with parasols in bright and contrast
{ing colors forming the color scheme.

prevails, Different, distinctive and

| attention and admiration, The wear-‘
ing apparel is featured in gold and
black—Oriental colors—and the eve
ning wraps and gowns are wonder- |
, fully lovely. The opposite window,
| however, is perhaps more attractive
| to some even than this Oriental pic
| ture, for the costumes, draperies, in
' fact, every detail in this window, is
| worked out in the new shades that
lare so rich, wonderfully fascinating
and vivid. Nasturtium, or capucine,

in henna and taupe shades, is par
ticularly attractive and interesting.
In the ready to wear window a dif
ferent note is struck, the color scheme
of.old blue and green making a charm
ing background for a few handsome
gowns in all black. Just a little dif
ferent, these windows, therefore quite
attractive and pleasing.
ROSENBAUM’'S—Handsome Vogue

CARLTON SHOE AND CLDTH-‘

to-wear shop. The fall colors are
carried out in every shade and de

used as decoration to the brown fox
scarf that stretched on the floor re- |
minds one of autumn and hunting
scenes. The leopard coat, the Eng
lish bull and the fetching jockey hat
all fit in the picture, while the cos
tumes were designed to carry out the
color scheme in further detail. A
copper duvetyne frock, a yellow eve
ning gown, a rose gown orchid
trimmed, even the Hawaiian frock,
wonderfully effective and appealing,
each has its designated part in con
triving an autumn color scheme that
can hardly be equaled for effective
ness,
GARY.—Blue and taupe form the
color combination in Gary's windows
which never seemed more attractive
than when adorned for the Fall Fash

larger hats in taupe are shown in the
one window, while against a back
ground of rose satin hats in brown
and taupe are featured attractively on
the opposite side. .
