Atlanta friends of Mrs. Florence
Bischoff Winzenburg, wife of former
Lieut. Roy Winzenburg of the 133 th
(St. Louis) ln{_ar}tyy. will be inter
ested in the news from St. Louis that
she has been awardec_l SIO,OOO actual
and SIO,OOO punitive damages by a
Jury in Clayton, Mo., in her suit
against the parents of her husband
for alienation of his affections.
' Lieutenant Winzenburg was acci
dentally shot by a seniry at Camp
Doniphan in November, 1817, Later
he was transferred to the base hos
pital at Fort McPherson and it was
while she was ]ivipg hg-rg to l?g near

Concerning the wverdict, the §St.
Louis Post-Dispatch says:
“The jury was out more than two
bhours. - After it had been out for
about an hour a dictionary wag sent

punitive. Judge Wurdeman wrote out
a definition, and n'%re than an hour
later the jury madé the award, in
cluding the SIO,OOO punitive damages.
*The case went to the jury at 3:30
p. m., after Mrs, Winzonburi had
testified jin the cross-examination
that her wedding ring was ‘at the
bottom' of the Mississippi River.” She
explained that she had dropped it
over the side of the beat last sum

attempfs at reconciliation had failed.

Third Ward Launehes

Its Clean-U p Campaign
Members of the committee =in
charge of clean-up work in the Third
Ward haye appealed to all residents
to assist’ in thé work during the
clean-up drive which started Thurs
day and continues for “one ~ week.
Mémbers of the committee are Mrs.
A. J. Robertson, Mrs. P. E. Willlams,
Mrs. C. P. White and Mrs. E. E. Ruf

Residents of the ward have been
asked to clean up their yards, wher
ever necessary, and to fend the com
mittee aid in giving the Third Ward
a good showing in clean-up work.
The eclean-up ecampaign is being
conducted in Atlanta under the aus
pices of the Federation of Women’s
Clubs. The First and Second Wards
have already completed their week's
campaig and other wards of the
city will folow in erder, a week be
ing allotted for each.
Wood Firm to Have

npunced that hereafter all musicians
enlisting in the navy will be traiied
at the naval operating hase in Hamp

Francisco.

produced for the navy bands on the
