TOOK CHILD TO FUNERAL
AND FAILED TO RETURN HER
Now Mrs. Sidney Goss Must Answer in Court
Complaint of Her Husband and Settle
Custody of Mary Ruth.
Because - Mrs. Sidney Goss, of 211
Rawson street, said she only wanted
to take her little girl, Mary Ruth Goss,
i funeral, and would return her
after the service, and has failed to
bring her back, ML.H. Goss, the hus
band and father, alleges, he has Insti
tuted habeas corpus proceedings to
get possession of Mary Ruth, whose
mother and father are separated.
In the petition filed in the supe-
nr court, Goss .alleges that he and hla
wife are separated, and that since
they, started living apart, he has had
possession Of their .'.-year-old girl.
On June 2, 1908, It Is claimed that
Mrs. Goss went , to 285 Glenwood ave
nue and said she wanted to take Mary
Ruth to a funeral, and that she would
return her to her father after that.
It Is alleged by Gosb that his wife has
failed to do this, and that Mrs. Dick
erson, the child's aunt, has said she
would aid Mm. Goss In retaining pos
session of the little girl. Charges of
a sensational nature are made against
Mrs. Goss In the petition; which also
asks that Mrs. Dickerson and Mrs.
Goss be made .to appear In court and
bring the child.
Judge Pendleton has set June 7, at
2:80 o'clock p. m., as the time for the
hearing of, the habeas corpus proceed
ings, when It will be decided who Is to
retain possession of Mary Ruth Goss.
