The military review was followed by a musical competition and a gala ball at the palaco of the Duchess Fernan members of the Spanish royal family, and the visiting princes and envoys. The newspapers of Madrid are chiefly giving' their attention to the need of measures for the protection of society against anarchy. CONFEDERATE DEAD ARE GIVEN HONOR Washington, June S.—Musical and oratorical tribute was paid Sunday to the Confederate soldiers whoso bodies rest in Washington. Several thousand persons visited the national cemetery al Arlington. Among those who paid tribute to the dead were Hon. John Sharp Wiliams, congressman from Mississippi, and Hilary A. Herbert, former secretary of the navy. The grave of General Joseph Wheeler, who died re cently, was decorated.
