The occasion was a pleasant one.

This order Is bound to grow rapidly
when we get the people well Informed.
We have often been misrepresented,

derstood, mean more than simply a
lodge. It Is an order that Is Working
with might and main for’the best In
terest of our free Institutions and the
welfare of the American people, who
love the Institutions that have made
our country great.

ODD FELLOW LODGE
An enthusiastic meeting was held
last Monday night by Atlanta Lodge
No. 14, I. O. O. F. Several applica
tions were received.
The membership of this lodge is In
creasing very rapidly and It will not be
long before It will be one of the largest
lodges in the city.
A movement was put on foot last
Monday night to reorganize the degree
team, and the captain, R. M. Bulce,
has called a meeting of the'team for
Saturday night for this purpose, j

MACCABEES WILL
OBSERVE MEMORIAL
Tomorrow Is Maecabee memorial
day, and the several Macrabee tent*
and hives In Atlanta and vicinity are
preparing to properly observe IL
Maecabee memorial day Is looked
upon with considerable Interest
throughout ths country. This Is the
first year that the Maccabees of At
lanta have had any occasion to con
duct a Maecabee memorial service.
During the post year sir Knights EL P.
Wrenn and T. P. Mitchell, members
of the order In Atlanta, passed away,
and the local Maccabees will keop the
pledge they made to them when In
life, "We will keep gryen ypur memo
ry, defend your character and provide
for those depending upon you."
All Maccabees and their frleoda are
Invited to take part In these services
and are requested to meet at Westvlew
cemetery gate at 4 o'clock, where a
procession will be formed that will
march to the graves of the departed
members. There the beautiful memo

The regular semi-annual election of
officers of Delphi lodge, No. 61,
Knights of Pythias, was held Tuesday
night In the lodge hall In the Sima
building at Marietta and Alexander
streets.

The meeting held by Comanche
Tribe, Red Men, last Thursday night
was full of Interest. Many matters
pertaining to the welfare of the tribe
were discussed.
Plans ware completed for the big
meeting which occurs next Thursday
night. The great chiefs of Georgia will
be present and ths other tribes are In
vited. It Is predicted that this will
Iw the largest gathering of Red Men
ever held In Atlanta.
The warrior's degree will be confer
red In amplified form by Comanche's
ruperb degree team; also some fine
drill work will be executed for the
benefit at the visitors.

committee, which announced that ar
rangements had baen completed to at
tend church at Calvary Baptist church
on Bunday, June 17, at U o'clock In the
morning.
The tribe will go from the wigwam
In full regalia. Slater tribe* and coun

this meeting.

Red Men, Instituted a new tribe nf Red
Men at Monroe last Wednesday.
This Is the second tribe thnt hn* hern
Instituted since Mr. Roberts became
grant sachem, about a moon since.
Tha new tribe la composed of some
of the best ettisens of Monroe, and
starts under favorable circumstances.
