Dental Association was held today. A
number of valuable papers were read
and commented upon. Officers will
be selected at tomorrow's session.

MRS. MITCHELL’S DEATH
CAUSES DEEP SORROW

Greenville, S. C., June 20.—The com
munlty was deeply grieved to learn
of the death of Mrs.- Alexander R.'
Mitchell, wife of the Christ church
rector, which occurred at Mount Pleas,
ant, where she had gone for the sum
mer.
Jdrs. Mitchell was a daughter of
Colonel John P..Thomas, of Columbia.
GETS LIFE SENTENCE

Brunswick, Ga., June 20.—In the su
perior court Ralford Knight, colored,
has been convicted of' the killing of
Lou Bennet, a negro woman, and gets
a life sentence In the
Knight killed the woman
her.
W. J. Boatwright, the young white
man who has been on trial on the
charge of forgery, has been found guil
ty, the jury recommending htiti to the
mercy of the court.
John Wing was found guilty of fel
ony, but It developed that he Is Insane,
and when the proper paper, are se
cured he .will be sent to the asylum at
Mllledgevllle.
John Wallace was convicted of as
sault with attempt to murder, and
given five years In the "pen/'

Brunswick, Ga, June 20.—Amelia
Johnson, the whits woman who made
an attempt to commit suicide with a
hatpin several daya ago when arrested,
has been tried In superior court.
The woman has a record In the crlm
Inal courts, and though she pleaded
guilty to the charges against her, site
was fined 1200 and sentenced to serve
twelve months on the chalngnng. The
chalngang eentence, however, was sus
pended on condition that the woman
keep out of Glynn county.

demned to die Friday for the murder

commutation of sentence, or pardon,
may be granted by him, and It la ex
pected an appeal for a reprieve will be
inada, but he Is not expected to grant it.
