A SUMMER NIGHTS TRAGEDY
WITH A COMIC DENOUEMENT
To two of the little scene Jt waa a
tragedy; to her whose presence of mind
nnd lawn hose prevented a cataclysm
nnd earned for her a claim to the Car
negie medal for heroism, and the one
w lio, from the point of view of a
\cry much Interested spectator, wit
nessed the whole thing. It was the
funniest bit of extravagant comedy
ever seen on or off the stege.
Here’s what happened:
I The other night, a young couple were
strolling down one of the beautifully
shaded streets of one of Atlanta's most
delightful residence sections. It was

warm and balmy, was surcharged with
serenity and peacefulness. There wai
not a noise to be heard, save the oc-

of one of the street's most beautiful
yards, and the raucous scraping of a
Jack-o’-lantern, drawn along the tiled
sidewalk by a little girl.
