More than 100 enthusiastic friends
and supporter* of Chief W. R. Joyner
met Tuesday night and formed a cen
tral campaign committee In the Inter,
eat of his candidacy for the mayoralty.
A number of ehort talks were made.
It being the expreseed desire of those
present to roll up the largest majority,
for Chief Joyner ever given to a candi
date for this office In Atlanta.
Representatives from each of the
eight wards of Atlanta were present,
and reported the conditions existing as
to the candidacy of the man whose
cause they championed.
Secretary Charlea N. Allen, of the
sub-committee of the city Democratic
executive committee being present.
Chief Joyner paid hla entrance fee of
*100.
J. W. Nelms was selected chairman
and Evelyn Harris secretary of the
central committed. Ward committees
will be named Immediately, and the
campaign entered Into with a determi
nation to give the chief a great ma
jority on election day.
Another meeting will be called short
ly, when the general plan of campaign
will be mapped out.

From a reliable source It was learned
Wednesday morning that plans are on
foot for the Incorporating of two new
electrical concerns In Atlanta, one to
be In operation within the next alx
weeks and; the other within ninety
days. Several local capitalists are In
terested In both companies, which will
not be competitive, and outside parties
are also Interested. ’
At & meeting nf those Interested' In
the project, which will be held the lat
ter part of this week, the details for
the Incorporation of the flrat company
will be completed end the proper pa
per* illed. This concern will deal In
electrical Construction nnd equipment.
The second company which will be
formed will operate In a different
branch of the electrical field nnd will
be composed of practically the same
pltalleta aa the first company.
The .two corporations will be the
gent of their kind In the South, and
the present plana are carried otlt will
operate In all sections of the state.
