Mr. William Benjamin Morrlaon, of
Savannah, Oa., waa married Monday
evening, June 28, to Mlaa Sada Marie
Hitt, of Birmingham at the home of
the brlde’e parents, Mr. and Mra. W.
H. Hitt, at Birmingham. The cere,
mony waa performed by Rav. N. D
Mooney. There were no attendanta.
The home waa decorated with mag
nolla bloeaoma, theae flowers forming
a wedding bell, under which the bride
and groom stood during the ceremony.
The btide'a gown was of white lace,
over white ■Ilk. She wore a veil of
tulle and carried a bonquet of white
roses.
During the reception which followed
a buffet supper waa served. The bride's
traveling ault waa of Alice blue clotty
with hat en suite.
Mr. and Mra. Morrlaon left at mid
night for Savannah, where they took
a steamer for Baltimore. Later they
will be at Tybee for sdme time.

Tuesday evening Mlaa Francea Slew-

py surprise party at Miss Stewart's

Society of the Sacred Heart church. On

A shooting gallery afforded much
amusement to the boys, while for the
girls there were a number of games
provided. "The Cabbage Patch,” of
which Mlaa Lily Peeples waa the pre
siding genius, was popular with chil
dren and with grown folks alike. The
guests were served by a bevy of young
girls, who added greatly to the enjoy
ment of the evening. The entertain
ment will continue until 10 o’clock on
Wednesday evening, many features be
ing provided during the evening for
the pleasure of the older people.

of Rome, were the bridesmaids. Miss

The bride's gown was of while mull
trimmed with val lace, and entirely
hand-made. Her beautiful real lace
veil was worn by her mother at the
time of her marriage. Her bouquet
was of white sweet peas.
The bridesmaids wore white lingerie
toilettes with green girdles Tlielr bou

At the aubsequent reception a bridal
supper was served buffet etyl* with
Ices In the form of good-luck slippers
and souvenir boxes of wedding cake.
They received several hundred hand
some gifts coming from Tennessee,

al fresco party given at her home In
Decatur. On the beautiful lawn sur
rounding the house were placed many
small tables, at which progressive
games were played. The flowers used
were white and green, bowls of white
sweet peas, roses and ferns being
placed on the tables The prlxea were
a silver candlestick and a white silk
girdle.

niony waa performed the Improvised
altar waa formed by palms and ferns.
The mantels and windows were banked
with ferns and white carnations and
roaea, the color scheme being white
and green throughout the home.

waa maid of honor and Mr. Garnet
Wolseley Hardin, of Shreveport, La.,
waa best man. Mra. Lucius J. Harris,
Jr., was matron of honor: bridesmaids,

The pretty ribbon-bearers were little
Misses Gladys Byrd and Ella Law
rence, who wore white lace frocks.
The bride wore a gown of while
crepe de chine trimmed with duchesse
and rose point lace. The skirt was
made with panels of the lace and the
corsage waa draped with a deep bertha
of the rose point. The tulle veil was
caught with a wreath of orange blos
soms. Her bouquet waa of bride roaea
and lilies of the valleyi and her only
ornament waa a diamond crescent,
gift from the groom.
The maid of honor wore a prlncesse
gown of pale green chiffon- cloth
trimmed with prlncessa lace. Her bou
quet waa of white roaea tied with green
tulle.
The bridesmaids' gowns were of
white chiffon fashioned with Valen
ciennes lace. Their gloves and girdles
were pale green, and In their hair they
wore half wreaths of while roses. They
carried bouquets of white carnations
tied with green tulle.
After the ceremony the guests were
entertained at an elegant reception and
buffet supper. In the dining room the
bridal table waa prettily decorated
with white and green flowers. The
heart-shaped cake waa placed on a
mound of white roaea bordered with
ferna. The crystal candlesticks had
green silk shades with silver filagree
and the Ices and bonbons were In while
and green.
The bride's gifts to her bridesmaids
were gold signet rings with the Initials
"K. T., '0*.'' engraved on them.
Mrs. Thorn, mother of the bride,
wore a gown of pale gray crepe de
chine trimmed with rose point lace and
chiffon. The groom's mother wore a
gown of white Loulslne silk, fashioned
with Irish point.
Wurm'a orchestra rendered an elab
orate program during the evening.
The groom’s gift to the bride waa a
harvest moon pin of diamonds.
The bride Is the eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Thorn nnd has
a host of friends who are Interested In
her marriage. Mr. Knox Is well known
In the business world nnd has a large
circle of friends In Shreveport who will
welcome his fair bride.
Among the many elegant gifts re
ceived by the bridal couple was a silver
tea service from the bride's parents and
a cheat of silver from the father and
mother of the groom.
At midnight Mr. and Mra. Knox left
for a two weeks' trip to Colorado
Springs, and later will go on an ex
tensive Journey farther West. They
will reside at Shreveport. La.
