About midnight, Policemen Felder
and Davla, while trying doors In Ivy
atreet, arrested two negroes, who are
suspected of being the burglars.
At the time of tho arrests, howover,
the officers were not awnro of the
burglary. They noticed the negroes
were carrying shoes and suspected they
had stolen them. Felder caught one
of the negroes, without difficulty, but
the other ran. As he dbl so, Felder
gave chase and shot at him. The of
ficer soon overtook the fugitive and
both negroes were locked in the police
