Ball, of Mlddleboro, Ky., a desperado eastern Kentucky, escaped from here last ‘night, being assisted by his wife. James Saylor and Steve Turner, charged with murder, and James Tur ner, an alleged cattle thief, also es raped. Mrs. Ball came to Richmond yesterday afternoon to see her hus band, who was to hal/e been taken t« Frankfort In a few days to serve life Imprisonment. When Turnkey J. W. Leads entered the cage to let out Mrs. Bali, she slgnated to one of the prisoners to grab him, and threw herself between the turnkey and her husband. A re volver was shoved In the * turnkey*!, face, and he was forced Into the cell and the door closed. Mrs. Ball was arrested. A posse pursuing the fugitives.
