of Middleboro, Ky., a desperado
eastern Kentucky, escaped from
here last night, being usslsted by
wife.
James Saylor and Steve Turne;
charged with murdef, and James Tur
ner, an alleged cattle thief, also es
caped. Mrs. Ball camo to Richmond

Chattanooga, Tenn., June 29.—War
rants have been sworn out for almost
a dozen small negro boys on the charge
of assaulting W. M» Shelton, an aged
farmer, living near this city. It Is al
leged that these negro boys entered
the cornfield of Mr. Shelton and began
a crusade In tearing down the corn,

out. They refused to leave and In tho
melee which followed the negroes
poured a volley of stones at the old
man, which brought him bleeding to
the ground.
