Mil KIDNAPED NIS OWN CHILDREN Lonif Chase Began at Brunswick Ended in Massachusetts with McBride’s Arrest, Requisition papers from Georgia have been forwarded to Massachusetts for Dr Janies T. McBride, a prominent physician of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, who Is held at Cheater on the charge of kidnaping his two children. The neceasary papers were forward ed Wednesday, and Dr. McBride will be brought back to Brunswick for trial on the charge of taking hla two little girls from their mother by surreptitious methods. Dr. McBrides arrest follows a long snd persistent chase, which began at Brunswick and continued through Florida, New Jersey, New York state, Canada, hack to New York, and finally ending with hie arrest at Chester, Mas- aachusetts. Early this year Mrs. McBride went to Brunswick with her two girls, aged 12 and 9. They had been In Florida for the winter, and Mrs. McBride seemed to poeseas means. A man known as Thomas W. Gray was often seen with Mrs. McBride and the chil dren. On May 15 Gray and the girls dis appeared, and Mra. McBride became frantic with anxiety. She Anally em ployed John W. Connally, head of the secret service of the Southern railway, and he began work at once. He soon ascertained that Gray had persuaded the children to go with him on the statement that their mother had gone to Florida by boat, and they would meet her there. Chief Connally alao learned that Gray was really named Walter Bett- mnn. nnd that he was employed by Dr. McBride, who was separated from his wife, to eecure the children. It wss finally decided to take definite action Id the pey ward matter nt the next reg ular session and to put all trustees on no tice of this decision. Much dissatisfaction baa arisen from time to time because of the pay wards. It baa been claimed that the pay patients hare not received sufficient attention, aud for this reason the trustees wish to make the hospital a charitable one throughout by cutting off the only source of revenue now allowed at the InstltuUon. The late trouble with the nurses was alao touched upon at the meeting. Ur. Floyd Mcltae and Ur.
