She was discovered, however, before the poison had time to do much dam age and was soon brought out of dan ger. It Is understood Mrs. Perkins’ hus band left her some time ago and that she has been worrying considerably. She was arrested a few days ago on a city charge, but was allowed to go free without a fine when she related to the recorder the story of her husband. Savannah, Ga., Aug. 8.—Tax Receiv er Marcus Baker has forwarded his digest to the comptroller general’s of fice. It Is shown that there has been an actual decrease of $600,000. In the amount of taxable property, due to the fact that all corporations holding fran chises from the state make their re turns th|s year directly to the comp troller general. The actual increase In taxable property, making .allowance for this change, has been about $1,200,000.
