CALL OFFICERS CHASE
A PHANTOM REPORT
A phantom was chased for more than
two hours In the neighborhood of Pratt
and Gilmer streets by officers Chan

Late In the afternoon some one called
up the police station and said If an

Officers Luck and Chandler grabbed
their bike* and hustled out *»f the
headquarters like a young cyclone.
When they reached their destination
s young white man approached them
and told them If they would follow a
“feller who had Jusi gone 'round tlie

around another corner and another and
still another, until perspiration was
pouring off of them in streams, but no

The two officers notified Patrolmen
Dodd and Sorman, who took up the
chase where Luck and Chandler had
left off, and after turning several more
comers they cornered tlu* phantom.
The cornered man gave Ids name as
Murphy, but didn't seem to know ex
