When an English actor comes over here nothing Is too good for him. Ho gets Invited everywhere nnd entertained in the most hospitable manner. "All humor Is‘local," said Mr. Ade. What Is funny In Chicago Isn’t funny- In New- York. It is the same the world over—locality has , everything to do Ith It. "The English have n sense of humor, f course, but It is very different from ours. They appreciate Impossible sit uations, when they are portrayed, very keenly. A favorite hit of comedy with them is the part of the play when tho servant inasqueiadea ns the mistress— it seems so utterly absurd and impossi ble to them to have the servant putting on the airs o? the master or mistress that they laugh very heartily. You see, It dej»ends entirely on the point of lew. "American humor does not appeal to the English people, because they can’t appreciate It right away and don't care enough about It to investigate It. If an English show is presented on this side e all go and make a fuss over it and over the actors. If there is a situation which we do not see nt first we sit down and figure It out until we get it. lover there they don’t sec It, and they "DIAMONDS BEING SUCCESS.” By our partial payment plan you can wear a nice diamond while paying for It.' ThU U the best way to spend money and at (he same time save It. To be successful, look successful; wear a beautiful diamond. EUGENE V. HAYNES CO.
