had it poor opening in view of the cables.
First prices were 5 poiuts higher. Pro
fessional trading predominated early in the
session, and it looked As though strong ef
forts would be made to force a number of

ket wi» firm with an active trade going
on In the lobbing houses. A white goods

ucss, and a large volume of goods was
moved. Print doth* were firm, and some
lines for delivery within thirty days were
very^scarce. Cotton yarns were steady on
the finer numbers, but weak on the coarse
unmber*. A moderate business waa doing.
About 1,500 bales of 2.50-yard sheeting have
