GIRLS' BUILDING AT
ROME MUCH NEEDED
The Orphan*’ Home at Decatur needs
a new building, a home for girls, and
the Methodist Sunday schools of At
lanta will meet on Saturday, September
29, to raise funds for the work. It Is
expected to raise $3,000 for this build
ing and the 8unday schools are taking
a deep Interest In the plan.
At the home there are 35 girls who
bear the brunt of the work of looking
after the smaller children. These girls
are now sleeping In one dormitory,
where no privacy Is afforded, and It Is
necessary that they be given more
omfortable quarters.
Major Guinn and other Sunday school
superintendents have resolved that the
building must be erected at an early
date and all of the Sunday schools will
he expected to contribute a share. A
permanent record of each school’s con
tribution will be retained In the build
ing. which Is to be of granite and of
modern construction.
The Orphans’ Homes of Georgia are
largely united In the observance of
work day and the friends of the move
ment ask that every one give his earn
ings on that day to some one of the
homes. Work day Is observed on Sep
tember 29.
