Mlaa San derson has all along maintained that Mlaa McColgan la perfectly sane and so Informed her. Shu advised her to sub mit quietly and peacefully to street, which she did, offering no objection whatever to again being jailed. Mlaa Sanderson than accompanied Mlaa McColgan from the police station to the Tower, where tha latter waa placed behind the ban to await trial In the ordlnary'a court. A short time ago the two Mines Mc Colgan. who were then conducting a boarding house In Walton street, had a dispute and this was followed by a light. Min Dona had her slater ar rested for lunacy, but Dr. Wilkins, sixth ward city physician, pronounced her sane. She waa thon released. CITY WILL CONSIDER ABATTOIR PROPOSAL A joint meeting of the special coun cil commute*, tha board of health and tha prison committee of council will hold naalon early next week to con- eider the matter of granting a portion of the stockade property to the central abattoir proposed by Menrs. Rablnnovlts, of San Carlos, Arlsona, has sued fl. M. Samuels, a young physician of Atlanta, for $22,000 for breach of promise. Miss Rablnnovlts declares In a peti tion filed In tha superior court Thurs day that If Samuels had shown tha proper manhood and properly notified her when ha realised that h* no longer loved her sufficiently to make her nls wife and had asked her to release him from an engagement, which waa an nounced during a visit of Samuels to her father's family at Fort Tottan, North Dakota, several year* ago, ah* feels that ah* could' have dona so, “although It would have blighted har own Ufa.” But she chart** that Samuel* not only put off thalr marriage from time to time for one reason or another after h* returned to Atlanta, but did not even tell his friends here of It. PLANS 70 INVADE CUBA ARE STILL BEING RUSHED Washington, Sept. 27.—There Is a de cidedly more optimistic tone about tha war department a* a result of the news from Havana that the warring factions In Cuba have agreed to meet through representatives and to submit any opinion on which they cannot agree to the American commtseloneru for de termination. Troops Getting Ready. 1 Despite this feeling, however, there has been no relaxation of the efforts to get everything In a state of pre paredness to meet an emergency call. Troops ar* ready to move whenever tha word come* from Oyster Bay that the necessity has arisen. Supplies of all kinds, horses, mules, and wagons, hospital requirements and everything els* to fully equip an army, era being collected at convenient points for Immediate shipment as soon as the word Is given. In tha meantime the navy la rushing marines to Cuba. By Saturday the 1,000 marines Included In the fourth and fifth expeditionary battalion*, which ar* to be known as the second regiment, will be afloat and on their way to Havana. It la expected that the Prairie with the detachments of marines from Boston, Newport and Portsmouth will sail on Friday and that the Brooklyn will get away from League Island with the marina* from Washington, Annapolis,, Md„ New York and Philadelphia on the same day. DIES_SUDDENL¥ Well Known Dentist Suc cumbs to Appendi citis. Dr. David S. Arnold, one of tho best known dentists In Atlanta, died Thurs day morning at I o’clock In hla apart ments' In the Bratton building, after a short Illness from appendicitis. His body will be sent to Montgomery, Ala., Thursday afternoon for Interment. Dr. Arnold became III Monday night, but thought hie complaint was nothing more than acute indigestion. The next day a physician was called and It was found that Dr. Arnold was suffering from appendicitis. He remained In his rooms until hla death Thursday morn ing. Dr. Arnold was a bachelor. Ho was about 45 years old and had lived In Atlanta for tho peat twenty years. He was at one time president of the Ful ton Club and afterwards became a charter member of the Transportation Club. He had no relatives In Atlanta, and hi* body was t(d<en in chnrge hy John Ward, president of the Transpor tation Club, and P. W. Spink, the sec retary. The two Curtis brothers, Joe and Monk, were active participants in the battle which resulted In the death of Joo Newsome and the crushing in of Joe Curtis’ skull. For this latter crime, which It Is charged he did with an axe.’ Albert Wilson la awaiting trial In Jail and his victim Is also a prisoner there, charged with the murder of Newsom*. His brother.
