First prices were a decided disappointment to the bulla, being Irregular at declines of some 3 points. To respond to New York's advance yesterday. .October should have started the session 8 1-2 points higher, while the later positions were due to come 8 to 8 1-2 points up. At the close the near months were un changed and late months 1-2 to 2 points higher. Spot prices were quiet but firm at 17 points advance on sales of 5,000 bales. On the discouraging Liverpool ad vices New York opened 1 to 22<polnts lower, and continued to decline throughout the entire session. There was nothing in the domestic news to which could be attributed cause for weakness. Qeneral showers were reported throughout the cotton belt, with unconfirmed rumors of light frost at Abilene, Tex. Fair weather, however.
