Maddox were the' hoata at an elegant budet luncheon Tueaday at the Capital City Club, given In honor of Mlaa Sarah Peel and Mr. William Tilt, wboae marriage takea place Wedneaday. In the blue room, where the lunch eon waa aerved, the table waa beautiful with Ita decoratlona of fruita and flow- erg. In the center of the table there waa a sliver basket filled with white chrysanthemums and tied with tulle. At the ends of the table there were plateaus of white chrysanthemums, and at intervals sliver baskets filled with green grapes were placed on the table. The cakes and bon-bons were heart-shaped and In green and white. The white candles were shaded with white shades covered with silver fila gree. Mrs. Maddox was beautifully gowg- ed In an Imported toilet of blue olga crepe. The bodice was made of rich lace embroidered In blue, purple and gold threads. Over this was worn a bolero of blue velvet which was also embroidered In gold. The skirt was appllqued In lace and here and there the gold threads were seen. ’She wore a hat of blue velvet trimmed with blue and black plumes. Miss Peel wore a gray voile fashion ad with lace. Her hat was of gray trimmed with plumes. Mrs. Kiser wore a loljet of coral- colored net over black. With this gown she wore a hat of black trimmed with white plumes. Mrs. Henry Jackson was handsome ly gowned in a suit of cloth of the shade of London smoke. The Jacket was appllqued In heavy lace ov mon-colored silk. She wore a toque , of gray velvet trimmed with pink wings. MISS Ada Alexander was gowned In gray voflo fashioned with gray and cream Cluny lace. With this gown she wore n hat of black velvet trimmed with black plumes. Miss Florence Jackson wore a suit of white and gray cloth. Her hat of gray was trimmed with black plumes. The dinner party at which Mr. and Mrs. William Eckford will entertain at their home, on Peachtree street, Tuesday afternoon, will be a beautiful eveqt. The guests of honor will be Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burgess, of New York, and the dinner will be followed by a box party at the Grand, where Mr. and Mrs. Burgess will appear In "The Little Joker.” This charming play was written, by the way. especial ly for Arthur Dunn and Mr. Burgess, whose contrasting heights offered to the playwright many amusing possi bilities. Mr. Burgess Is a former resi dent of Atlanta, and has many friends In the city. The dinner at which Mr. and Mrs. Eckford will entertain for them this evening will be elegant In every detail. The bulfet supper which Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Horner gave Monday night at their home, on Peachtree road, In honor of Miss Sarah Peel and Mr. William Tilt, was one of the most elegant affairs given in honor of these young people. The handsome home was beautifully decorated for the occasion and every where lights and flowers produced a charming effect. In the drawing room, where Mr. and Mrs. Horner received their guests, the flowers used were white chrysanthemums, ln’the library there were American beauty roses and palms artistically used, and the billiard room, where the punch bowl waa placed, amid quantities of Malaga grapes, the same stately flowers and {pirns were in evidence. In the hall way the dark woodwork was a pretty background for the red berries. In the dining room pink tints pre vailed. On the table there waa a cut glass bowl filled with pink chrysan themums. The lights were capped with pink shades and the bon-bons were also of the same color. An elaborate supper was served and during the evening an attractive musical program was rendered. Mrs. Horner"wore an Imported "gown of blnck lace over amber-colored satin. Over the entire gown there Was a.deli cate trimming of black velvet. Miss Peel wore a pale blue radium silk, made with lace panels and trimmed with silk roses applied on the bodice and skirt, Mrs. Peel wore black lace and Mrs. W. H. Kiser's toilette was of'blue crepe de chine, fashioned with baby Irish lare. Miss Edward Peters wore cream lace, made over brocade satin. Mrs. E. Wllmerdlng was attractively gowned In white lace. Mrs. Harry English was much admired In a white chiffon cloth, made piincesse. Mrs. Milton Dargnn wore pink messellne, trimmed In lace. Mrs. J, K.
