Chattanooga, Tenn., Nov. 2.—In the
frightful explosions ot a magazine of
ilynamlle torpedoes, used for signal
purpose* at the Cincinnati Southern
shops, tins morning at 1:15 o'clock, one
of the employees lost his life, a score
were seriously Injured, the shops
wrecked and windows In many build
ings shattered.
Clark Evans, a colored laborer, who
was near the magazine at the time, wan
blown to atoms.

penter.

Will Gray, a foreman.
Jim Price, a machinist.

or less Injured.
Mr. Bcningnrd's face was literally
turn to pieces by the force of the con
cussion.

cendiary origin. There had never been
a fire In the store room.
Carpenters are at work on the plant
and the damage will be repaired at
