The reception at which Mr. and Mrs.
, m Thompson entertained Thursday
evening. I n honor of Mr. and Mrs. W.
C Thompson, was one of the largest
sinl most elegant social events of the

and Mrs. W. C. Thompson, Miss Bry-
ion of Atlanta; Miss Johnston, of Ma
con Miss Harrison, of Augusta; Mr.
Brvson and Mr. Turner Bryson, of
Siloant, and Mr. Brooke Thompson,
were grouped In the big bay window
of the spacious drawing room. The
room was beautiful with Its decorations
of oink and white. Graceful sprays of
smtlax festooned the walls and win
dows, brightened by bunches of pink
ind white roses. Numerous vases and
bowls were tilled with the same flowers.
In the sitting room the color scheme
was red and white. The punch bowl
was banked with red and white chry
santhemums, and presided over by
Misses May Thomason and Sue Reid
Walton.
In the dining room the decorations
were of yellow and white. The rtclf
mahogany table had for Its centerpiece
s lieautlful cut glass urn filled with
shaggy yellow chrysanthemums. Stiver
and cut glass candlesticks held candles
shaded with yellow. Sliver and cut
glass compotes filled with yellow and
white mints were on the table. Misses
Mary Trotter, Carry Foster and Ritchie
Walton, Mrs. W. E. Hugs and Mrs. YV.

Mrs. W.C. Thompson, who Is a young
woman of charming personality and
one of the most highly accomplished
young ladles of Slloam, wore her wed
ding gown of white radium silk,
irimmed with quantities of real lace.
Her only ornaments were diamonds and
she carried a bouquet of bride’s roses
and matden-halr feme, tied with long
streamers of white tulle.
Miss Bryson, of Atlanta, who was
maid of honor, wore a beautiful dresa
of white lace over white silk.
Mrs. M. Kurlow. matron of honor,
wore white satin, Irimmed with white
chiffon.
Misses Harrison. Johnston and Ben
ton, bridesmaids, wore white messallne
silk with lace.
Mrs. L. M. Thompson was gownejl In
a handsome toilet of gray satin with
'.ouches of silver und blue.
Mrs. Joseph Vason wore a pretty
dress of pale blue chiffon cloth, with
nlmnilngs of pink and white.
Miss Emmie Thompson wore a bc-
conilng toilet of pink platted chiffon,
elaborately trimmed with hand work.
Misses Carry and Edna Pou are In
Augusta, the guests of Mrs. Duncan.
Miss Mnida Williams and Mrs. Doe

state conference of the D. A. R., which
