Lost.
Quebec, Nov. 12.—Special trains
from Rimouski and the steamer.**
Strathco and Gaspian are bringing 7ti
rabin passengers and nearly 600 steer
age passengers here from the Dominion
Uncr Kensington as the result of a
wreck yesterday, during a blinding
storm in the St. l^awrence river.
Reports from the wreck say that the
Kensington is in a dangerous position
and may pound to pieces on the rocks.
The Kensington is one of the finest
bouts owned by the Dominion line and
is commanded by Captain Merle, one
of the oldest captains in the employ of
the line. -
A panic was quickly quelled by the
ship's crew and no lives aro known to
have been lost.
PICE OF. TECK
11GETRICH WIFE
Brother of the Princess of
Wales Likely to Find
American Wife.
BY RICHARD ABERCORN.
London, Nov. 12.—Various rumors
about Prince Francis of Teck, the gal-
la nf and handsome, but poor, brotherof
tin* Princess of AVales, have been float
ing about lately. One report stated that
hv was to go on the stodk exchange,
while another connected him with an
American girl with dollars.
Neither of these stories is founded
on fact, but the future of Prince Fran
cis seems to be well provided for. It Is
pretty, certain that he will be the heir
to a large slice of the fortune of Mr.
and Mrs. Von Andre. Mrs. Von Andre
is Senator Chauncey Depew’s slster-ln-
law, and her husband was lately retired
from a successful financial career.
The prince hus been "taken up" by
five Von Andres, with whom he is a
great favorite. Possibly they may find
him an American wife. %
The house of loyds, which has re*
assembled for the autumn session, pre
sents a striking contrast to. the lower
house, having a greater. Conservative
majortly than the majority of Liberal
Commons, This will provide interest
ing political situations, when the im
portant measures the Liberal govern
ment has up Its sleeve, cotpe up for
consideration by the noble lords.
After deducting the royal dukes, the
peers who are minors, and thoso who
keep aloof from politics either because
•f their official uosts or through sheer
Indifference—making between thirty
and forty non-political peers—there are
IT, Conservatives and 89 Liberals,
"Ith 22 Conservative bishops and’
Liberals. Tho total Conservative ma
jority in the lords is thus 394.
The one liberal duke in the house
I* the Duke of Manchester, and there
arc only three Liberal marquis.
The house of peers is likely to be
'tlrred into unwonted activity In the
• mioavor to crush the Liberal govern-
nt, and it Is expected that there will

sixty days over due and no word has
been heard from her by her owners,

1200,000 cargo of sugar.
Whether the vessel has been wrecked
